BACKGROUND
Having an affinity for maths, science and the natural world led Archie to study Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A Level, achieving A*AA, and to choose Veterinary Medicine at University. Outside of work he enjoys many sports including football, swimming and calisthenics and loves camping and cold-water swimming! Professionally, Archie now tutors GCSE and A Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry full-time.
教学经验和方法
Archie has been giving online and in-person tuition for over 3 years and has amassed 1000+ hours of experience. He has worked with SEN students and year 7’s, all the way through to 38-year-old postgraduates.
Archie works privately as well as for a number of prestigious boarding and private schools including Radnor House, Twickenham and Cheltenham College, and has an in-depth knowledge of the specifications and exam board mark schemes.
Connecting well with students of all ages and Archie would describe himself as more of a ‘learning coach’ and mentor rather than a tutor. All his lessons are bespoke and tailored to each individual tutees’ needs. His lessons are fun and engaging. He aims to teach a student HOW to learn a subject, and provides knowledge of their specific exam board, ensuring they are on target to achieve the best grade possible.
为什么要进行辅导?
The most rewarding and fulfilling part of being a tutor is equipping my tutees with the skills to become a life-long, independent learner as I know this will benefit them long after they’ve achieved their A*.
My favourite book is The Wim Hof Method: Activate Your Potential, Transcend Your Limits by Wim Hof.
TESTIMONIAL
“Archie has completely transformed my son’s academic confidence and inspired a passion for learning. Sam came to Archie really struggling with GCSE maths and losing confidence in himself. Archie built up Sam’s confidence in a systematic, hierarchical manner. The transformation was absolutely amazing, Sam began to grow and grow and even decided to take mathematics at A Level, where he achieved an A*! Archie has had a profound affect on my son and we will forever be grateful” Jack Murphy
