为什么要进行辅导?
After leaving university I worked in a variety of educational settings, improving my teaching skill set and becoming increasingly involved in one-to-one tuition. I disliked the inflexible approach of classroom teaching with an impersonal emphasis on class management and resonated more with smaller group tuition. Here, I could tailor lessons to an individual’s learning style and interests, creating engaging sessions which better helped students realise academic goals. I have helped students from KS1-KS4 with English and History and other subjects ad hoc, building up a thorough knowledge of key exams at each level, including 7+, 11+, 13+ and IGCSE/ GCSE, as well as IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge English. My personable, empathetic personality best suits the tuition dynamic, as I view rapport as paramount to the learning process, and look to guide students through the subject and exam content, helping them to build confidence and leading them to excellent grades. This gives me a great sense of fulfilment and has encouraged me to pursue more experience in the field.
I have a great passion for the subjects I teach, having always been an avid reader and lover of language, as well as by forming a lasting interest in historical research whilst at university. The topics and texts covered across English and History are of interest to me personally, so I regularly conduct further research into them for my own curiosity. I communicate topics with passion, using enthusiastic discussion and debates to encourage students to formulate their own opinions and find enjoyment with the subject. Moreover, my creative pursuits have given me the ability to inspire young people in different ways, always looking to find an imaginative approach to the subject. I structure lessons in ways that will prevent learners from losing focus, for example by breaking lessons up into sections and interspersing learning with fun activities, audio/visual clips, engaging images, or quizzes.
