BACKGROUND
A Mathematics & Philosophy graduate from the University of Warwick, Yury has always enjoyed solving, formulating them in precise terms, identifying key issues and presenting solutions clearly. Tutoring, which began as a hobby, has quickly turned into a passion.
In his spare time, Yury enjoys cycling, playing tennis and watching football. For the past 3 years he has been teaching English in high schools in Spain and has also developed a taste for good tapas!
教学经验和方法
Yury has taught Mathematics at A Level (Edexcel, OCR), Further Mathematics at A Level and IB Mathematics as well as Numerical, Verbal, Abstract and Logical Aptitude Tests. He comes equipped with over four years of tutoring experience, and has helped 100s of students improve not only their grades, but develop a logical way of thinking.
Yury’s goal is to build a rigid foundation with strong fundamentals to allow students to excel. After getting to know a tutee’s level, classes are tailored to their specific needs. Since every student is different his teaching methods adapt accordingly. After each session, Yury sets problems for the student to look at, consisting of similar material seen during the session, past paper questions and some tougher problems which require some extra thought.
Yury constantly strives to improve his teaching and help students achieve their full potential. He believes that feedback works both ways, and will always ask pupils which areas they thought most useful and if anything could have been done better.
为什么要进行辅导?
For me, that feeling you get when you help someone gain understanding and curiosity of a tricky topic is very pure. Tutoring has helped improve my own confidence and made me aware of various difficulties that people have when learning.
My favourite book is 1984 by George Orwell. At the time of writing, people thought that Orwell’s prediction of a dystopian future was quite far-fetched. However, nowadays, we can see that his imagination was not too wild after all!
