Kaya studies Anthropology with International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His A Level studies were in History, Geography and English Literature achieving A* grades for all.
A qualified scuba-diver and football player with with a professional club, Kaya loves to read, and a perfect day would be reading a great book by the sea under the sun with an icy drink. A brief attempt to enter the world of training working dogs was abandoned without success!
Teaching Experience & Approach
Since 2019 Kaya has tutored student with a variety of differing goals, focusing on History, Geography and English, and every student he has worked with has achieved their goal with ease – often surpassing their own expectations. Those goals have ranged from entry to local college to places at prestigious universities. One example was a young person who had struggled academically throughout their school career and really wanted to go to their chosen destination after GCSE to specialise in Business; However, to do so they needed to get a strong pass in English Literature. We worked every single week in the run up to this exam, applying my technique and his potential, and he achieved that grade with no difficulty.
Why Tutoring?
Tutoring for me is a way to understand a student’s true potential, which more often than not is limitless. Too often teachers tell their students that they should expect lower than what can truly be attained, and tutoring is a way to bridge that gap. It is for this reason I am very passionate about tutoring.
My favourite book is… I usually read non-fiction (boring) but my favourite fiction book would probably be Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? OR a classic – A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The former became the inspiration for Blade Runner but I haven’t seen the film!
